An Update on the Worship Pastor Search

Dear Bethel Church Family,

Earlier this year, I informed you the Session was beginning a search for a Minister of Worship. We employed a national search firm to assist in this process. Although we conducted a nationwide search, God brought us someone with roots in Houston. I am excited to announce that Kevin Dailey will be joining our staff in this capacity starting in mid-December.

Kevin married his best friend Kendra over 17 years ago. They have two daughters, Molly (11) and Lilly (9). Kevin and Kendra have both expressed their excitement, not just about a new ministry opportunity, but seeking to develop deep roots in a church family. Outside of music and ministry, Kevin states, “I love to travel, explore new places and I love cycling, Asian food and all manners of tacos.” It sounds like he will fit in perfectly with our staff.

Kevin’s role at Bethel will include overseeing our Worship teams, including the choir, vocalists, musicians, and audio/visual teams. He will also be working with our Children’s and Student ministries to help develop a shared vision of worship and strong worship teams from the kids through adults. Kevin will have other responsibilities to be defined once he gets his feet on the ground in the area of worship.

A few of the critical skills that Kevin brings to Bethel above and beyond his musical talent include team building, visionary leadership, attention to details that cultivate an atmosphere of worship and a shepherd’s heart. He loves people and indeed sees his first ministry as loving, caring for and maturing people in their faith.

Kevin states, “I desire to be part of a healthy, vibrant worship community, and will do my best to help it succeed…When we come together as a worshipping community, we realign where worship goes, to Him who is worthy of all Blessing, Glory, Honor, and Praise!”

Kevin served on the worship staff at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church here in Houston before moving to a church in Washington state where he served as the Pastor of Worship. God led him back to Texas a few years ago, where he has been serving on the worship staff at First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio. Before serving in the area of worship, Kevin served as a student ministry pastor. Although he was not actively seeking a transition from San Antonio, he and his family love Houston. When Bethel came calling, God seemed to be opening a unique opportunity for ministry. Having served in churches where both new and traditional music and worship traditions are appreciated, Kevin understands Bethel’s heart.

Kevin has a Bachelor’s of Communications from Southern New Hampshire University and is a candidate for the Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. Kevin also received an MBA Essentials Certificate from Tulane University Freeman School of Business.

I want to invite you to our 10:45 Worship Service on Sunday, December 10th, as Kevin will lead us in worship. Immediately following the service, please join us for a reception for the Daileys in the Fellowship Hall, where you can meet them and hear a little more about Kevin and Kendra.
